Otis Taylor is an 20 year old who grew up around art and artists. His father is a blacksmith and a welder, his mother was a painter and his grandfather was a well renowned painter and wood sculptor. Born and raised in Vermont, Otis has been making wire sculptures for about 8 years and has made it into a business. When Otis first started out as a wire sculptor, he based his wire sculptures on the early work of Alexander Calder (a wire sculptor in the 30's). After watching documentaries & films on the work of Alexander Calder and learning from his father, he started to make his own creations and experiment with different types of wire. For example animals, trees, and other interesting objects are included in Otis' work. Otis' sculptures are now available in local stores and art galleries including Kindred Spirits in Brattleboro VT:
